1986 Song: Dr. Feel good
Musician: James Brown Genre: Soul/Funk Summary: My dad liked this song because it has an amost church vibe about it. He thought it really captured the James Brown 80s groove/ funk. One interesting thing about this song is that James sings about letting go and feeling good. At this time period people are still getting used to having equal rights. This could possibly be his way of telling the people to let go of their racial predigests and "feeeeeell goooooodd".

summary:In this article it talks of an incident where three African Americans were stranded in Howard beach late at night, (a white neighborhood) when a white gang attacked them with tire irons, bats, and even tree limbs. The mob brutally injured and almost killed two of them but one luckily escaped by drawing his pocket knife in self defense. This shows that even after the civil rights movement there is still racism. There were several racially motivated attacks around the same time. This shows that these three men were not the only victims of racial predigest.
